THE LIBRARY

PETROGLYPH maintains a large library of immunostains as well as histochemical stains.  Overseeing the library and its quality is an ongoing process.  Since diagnoses rely heavily on stain performance, this oversight is the responsibility of the medical director.   New antibodies go through a rigorous validation process in order to provide a high degree of assurance that the tests meet predetermined specifications and are both reliable and reproducible.  New lots of antibodies as well as control blocks are verified to ensure consistency of staining.  The lab uses the highest quality antibodies whose performance characteristics have been researched and published.
